Title I

Title I funds help our students.  The staff at Favorite Hill Primary School is committed to providing all children with the opportunity to master the basic skills and meet state standards. With this goal in mind, the district has used Title I funds to meet the needs of our students. These funds are available to our district based on the number of students receiving free and reduced lunch. Currently we use funds to supplement instruction, reduce class size, provide staff inservice, and provide counseling services to our students. Each year the district looks at the plan in place to see if there are ways we can make positive adjustments. If any parents have suggestions that you would like to share, we would love to hear from you. You can contact Ms. Gearhardt with your ideas at Favorite Hill Primary School.

Favorite Hill Mission and Goals

Like your students, our school receives a ‘Report Card’ from the State of Ohio judging the work we do with students each year. We are very pleased to announce to our parents and the community that Favorite Hill received an ‘EXCELLENT" rating for the 2008-2009 school year – the highest rating awarded by the State. We met all Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) requirements and met the requirements for Reading, Math, and Attendance indicators. In addition to the excellent rating, Favorite Hill has been recognized as a "School of Promise" for the third year by the State Superintendent for showing great gains over the past three years and for meeting the needs of all students.  Favorite Hill is a great place to learn!  Congratulations to the students, parents, and staff of Favorite Hill for such a GREAT ACCOMPLISHMENT! This is something to be very proud of!

Our mission is to work as one with parents and the community to continue our progress and be accountable for each student’s learning at Favorite Hill Primary School.

Goals for 2009-10 are:

Math:  100% of all students will improve their performance level or maintain an advanced status with the math short cycle assessments. In addition to this we will strive for 90% or more of our students to reach a proficient performance level or higher on the third grade Ohio Achievement Test.

Language Arts:  100% of all students will improve their performance level or maintain an advanced status with the Language Arts short cycle assessments. In addition to this, we will strive for 90% or more of our students to reach a proficient performance level oro higher on the third grade Ohio Achievement Test.

The short cycle assessment scores for math and Language Arts will be broken into quintiles and classified as:

  • Limited

  • Basic

  • Proficient

  • Accelerated

  • Advanced

Writing Goal:  100% of all students will improve their performance level or maintain a proficient level with writing samples in order to pass the writing short cycle assessments.  All writings will be scored holistically.
